COVID-19 Updates

Early end of lockdown could be brought forward July 5

If data continues to improve, current lockdown restrictions could fully be lifted and end two weeks early on July 5. This is following a planned review after two weeks for a ‘review point’ as the effectiveness of vaccines has proved to be very successful. Currently, the planned reopening is dated to be July 19 and it is expected that all adults should be able to book their COVID-19 vaccination appointment by the end of this week. This comes as all over-18s in England will now be able to book, where government figures estimate that a total of 42,216,654 million people have received their first vaccination and over 30,675,207 million people received their second dose. A total of72,891,861 million total vaccinations have now been given in the UK.
